Jakarta – The Jayakarta Military Regional Command (Kodam Jaya) together with industrial waste management company PT Prasadha Pamunah Limbah Industri (PPLI) and the DKI Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) as well as the Alliance of Environmentally Concerned Journalists and Satukata Initiative held a Sustainability Forum panel discussion with the theme Agents of Change As a Driver for Ecosystem Restoration.

The event was opened by the Commander of the Jayakarta Regional Military Command, Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto and attended by a number of speakers, namely GM Sales & Marketing of PPLI Yurnalisdel, Head of Kadin DKI Jakarta Diana Dewi, Academician and Professor of Psychology at UIN Jakarta Prof. Dr. Ahmad Syahid, Observer of City Planning and Environment at Trisakti University Nirwono Yoga as well as a number of Environment Service officials from DKI Jakarta, Bekasi, Depok and Tangerang.

The Commander of the Kodam Jaya, Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto, invited the public to work together to preserve the environment in DKI Jakarta by setting an example of a green and orderly environment.

The Commander of the Jayakarta Military Region (Pangdam Jaya) Major General TNI Untung Budiharto in Jakarta, Tuesday (22/11/2022) said that Kodam Jaya had actually taken steps to set an example for the community. The environment at Kodam Jaya is already quite green. This is so that people can emulate what is done. Untung added that his party also held discussions by inviting various parties such as entrepreneurs, industry players, to the provincial government.

PPLI General Manager, Yurnalisdel said that the rapid growth of the industry certainly had an impact on the amount of waste produced, including the type of hazardous waste. Yurnalisdel explained, the technical treatment of industrial waste at PPLI has been running for more than 28 years. Yurnalisdel said the first was that all the elements, since the waste is produced by the activity, households really need to say that they need to do 3R 4R or 5R in their own industry, so PPLI itself after it is produced because hazardous waste or industrial residue is something that cannot be avoided no matter what the activity is. In the end, there will definitely be waste. There is waste that must be handled and it is this waste that must be managed because PPLI is specific in the waste sector. PPLI’s technology makes the waste harmless and non-toxic, meaning that in terms of infrastructure, we have prepared it at PPLI.

He also emphasized PPLI’s commitment to participate in contributing to aspects of environmental ecosystem restoration, especially industrial waste management. Yurnalisdel added that he agreed that Kodam Jaya could become more general because of hazardous waste, especially PPLI in this field, has been present for more than 28 years, so PPLI have made the necessary efforts. The activity participants were representatives of companies in the DKI Jakarta area and the three buffer areas. Territorial Assistant (Aster) Kodam Jaya, Colonel Arm Steffie Jantje Nuhujanan, S.Ip hopes that this event will be able to open the eyes of the industrial world about the dangers of industrial waste to ecosystems and future human survival.
