POPs Danger For Health

Do you know?

What is Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)? PCBs are part of persistent organic pollutants or better known as POPs which contain toxic characteristics, that are difficult to decompose, bio accumulate and are transported by air, water and species. On 23 May 2001 the Government of Indonesia participated in the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants which aims to protect human health and the environment from persistent organic pollutants. And the plan is that PCBs waste must be phased out or eliminated by 2028. So what is the solution for Indonesia?

PT. Prasadha Pamunah Limbah Industri (PPLI) has innovated to build polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) treatment facilities as part of the National Implementation Plan (NIP) and plays a role as a solution to PCBs elimination in Indonesia.
